Welcome Corey Katz!

Corey Katz

The Center for Ethics and Human Values is pleased to announce the appointment of Corey Katz to a two-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship. The Ohio State University Office of Energy and Environment agreed to fund the fellowship for the Ethics of Sustainable Development out of the Ohio State Sustainability Fund. Katz will continue work on what has been the focus of the center and its COMPAS Program this year: Sustainability. The organizers of both CEHV and the COMPAS program are excited to welcome Corey in order to both continue the conversation on sustainability and contribute an ethical perspective to the University's sustainability goals.

Corey will receive his PhD in philosophy from Saint Louis University in May. He works in social and political philosophy, ethical theory and environmental issues. His current research develops the theoretical underpinnings for a human rights-based approach to long-term global climate change. He has recently presented work at the Stanford McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society, the Calgary Sustainability Conference and the International Society for Environmental Ethics. He is a native of Toronto, Canada and enjoys cooking, biking and gardening.
