The Bioethics Network of Ohio announces
the 24th annual conference:
“Bioethics in the Future Tense”
When asked about bioethics, leaders in the field describe it as a complex set of activities, with its own distinctive goals and standards of excellence. Those engaged in the practice of bioethics clarify moral problems, provide specific language and skills, and help to identify solutions for a variety of morally complex issues. Will this paradigm be modified as health care in the United States transitions to the framework of accountable care organizations, population management and evidence-based clinical effectiveness?
Please join us as we explore the past, present and future of bioethics. Plenary sessions include, “Learning from the Past: The Birth of Bioethics”; “The Future of Ethics Consultants: Professionalization, Certification, Licensure…Oh My!” and “Bioethics: Return to Foundations.” Break-out sessions relevant to contemporary bioethical issues will address the role of perinatal hospice, the application of genomics in the clinical setting, an ethical framework for critical drug shortages, and the impact of burnout in the health professions.
The Bioethics Network of Ohio looks forward to seeing you at its annual educational event. Invite a student and colleague and come join us!
