Joyce Chen joined the Department Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics in the fall of 2006. Her current research focuses on decision-making processes within the household, parental preferences and implications for children's human capital and gender equity. Recent work examines how intra-household allocation decisions are affected by the ability to negotiate and enforce cooperative agreements and how factors such as migration influence the scope for cooperation.
