CEHV Welcomes New Civil Discourse Fellows
CEHV is proud to present our sixth cohort of Civil Discourse Fellows! Civil Discourse Fellows are committed to bringing people with different viewpoints together to respectfully and rigorously discuss contentious issues. The following students join twenty fellows from previous cohorts as leaders of civil discourse here at OSU:
Peter Conser is a second-year student majoring in Economics with a minor in Public Management, Leadership, and Policy.
Megan Gantner is a second-year Honors Program student majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and English with a minor in Classical Greek.
Shilpa Gopal is a third-year student majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics with minors in Linguistics and Law and Public Policy.
Gwenyth King is a second-year Honors Program student majoring in Political Science and Sociology with a minor in Studio Art.
Elijah Kirkpatrick is a second-year student majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
Asher Nathan is a second-year student majoring in Politics science and Public Management, Leadership, and Policy.
Tobey Rubin is a second-year student majoring in Economics and Russian.
George Sperka is a third-year student majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and Public Management, Leadership, and Policy with a minor in History.
Civil Discourse Fellows are key to creating and sustaining a culture of civil discourse on campus. Since the Civil Discourse Fellows Program began in 2021-22, fellows have hosted twenty Civil Discourse Forums that bring experts with opposing viewpoints together to explore disagreements on pressing issues including immigration, gun regulation, abortion, transgender athletes, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, affirmative action at universities, the relationship between China and the U.S., AI, global justice, and climate change.
