ETHICS EVENT: Congressmen Barry Goldwater, Jr. and Jason Altmire
The Institute for Democratic Engagement and Accountability presents former members of Congress, Barry Goldwater, Jr. (R-CA, 1969-1983) and Jason Altmire (D-PA, 2007-2013) Barry M. Goldwater Jr. represented California from 1969-1983 as a member of the Republican Party, and served on the Committee on Public Works, the Committee on Science and Technology, and the Joint Committee on Energy. Jason Altmire represented Pennsylvania from 2007-2013 as a member of the Democratic Party. His time in Congress was characterized by a focus on meeting the interests of both parties, with which he saw a great deal of success. Their discussion will focus on the current political climate, and how we can overcome political polarization. They will close with a period of Q&A.
