CEHV Associate Director Aaron Yarmel and Ariel Sykes (Assistant Director of the Ethics Institute at Kent Place School) will present a workshop about philosophical dialogue facilitation for educators. The workshop will take place online over the course of 8 Sundays from January 8 until February 26. This workshop is sponsored by CEHV and endorsed by the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children.

Dialogue is increasingly recognized as a crucial component of education. Bringing dialogue into the classroom is easier said than done, however. In the course of 8 highly interactive and participatory sessions, you and your small cohort (capped at 10 people) will learn the Community of Philosophical Inquiry (CPI) approach to dialogue facilitation through role-playing, facilitation exercises, and one-on-one feedback. Participants will gain competence and confidence in creating inclusive learning environments that foster critical, creative, and caring thinking. A Professional Development certificate of completion is available for educators (check with your local district for information about PD requirements).
