CEHV Associate Director, Dr. Aaron Yarmel, recently interviewed Dr. Jane Gatley, a philosopher of education at Swansea University, for the Book Talk series of the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children. The interview covered Gatley's book, Why Teach Philosophy in Schools? The Case for Philosophy on the Curriculum, which Yarmel previously reviewed for Theory and Research in Education. Gatley's book makes a compelling and innovative argument for including philosophy in schools based on its ability to help students clarify ordinary concepts and coherently integrate content across the curriculum.
