Peter Kwok Chan is an Associate Professor of Visual Communication Design in the Department of Design. He has worked closely with CEHV on numerous design projects, including the CEHV main logo.

Chan received his BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design (1986) and MFA from Rhode Island School of Design (1988) in graphic design. He obtained his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University (2003) in Art Education.

He formerly practiced brand identity design and management, created visual communication design systems and packaging designs, and conducted design research at Fitch (Columbus, Ohio: US headquarters) and The Procter & Gamble Company (Health Care Research Center, Mason, Ohio).

His research focuses on Brand Design, and concerns the methods, techniques, and approaches that design students learn to explore, interpret, and apply emotion-driven design to strategic design problems.

He has served as design advisor for many nonprofit, for-profit and academic groups. Peter’s creative works have won recognition from American Institute of Graphic Arts, Columbus Society of Communicating Arts (CSCA), Communication Arts, CA Interactive, HOW, IDEA, IDSA, Print, and Typography.
