Overview
This colloquium is part of CEHV's Civil Discourse for Citizenship initiative, which provides opportunities for students to engage in vigorous and respectful discussion anchored by "the 4Cs": Be Curious, Be Charitable, Be Conscientious, Be Constructive.
The panel discussion will be moderated by two of our undergraduate Civil Discourse Fellows.

Panelists
Jessie Hill
Jessie Hill, JD, is Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development and Judge Ben C. Green Professor of Law at Case Western Reserve University. She previously practiced First Amendment and civil rights law with the firm of Berkman, Gordon, Murray & DeVan in Cleveland. Before entering private practice, Hill worked at the Reproductive Freedom Project of the national ACLU office in New York, litigating challenges to state-law restrictions on reproductive rights. She also served as law clerk to the Honorable Karen Nelson Moore of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Hill's teaching focuses on constitutional law, civil rights, reproductive rights, and law and religion. Her scholarship has been published in the Michigan Law Review, the Duke Law Journal, the Georgetown Law Journal, and the Texas Law Review, among others.
Ryan R. Nash
Dr. Ryan R. Nash, MD, MA is the Hagop S. Mekhjian, MD, Endowed Chair in Medical Ethics and Professionalism and the Director of The Ohio State University Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities. He is also Director & Associate Professor with Tenure in the Division of Bioethics, Department of Biomedical Education & Anatomy in the College of Medicine. He is Chair of the OSU Wexner Medical Center Ethics Committee. In addition to serving as a healthcare ethics and clinical bioethics advisor and consultant, Dr. Nash continue to be active in Palliative Medicine, caring for patients primarily with advanced cancer. His scholarship focuses on practical, procedural, and policy issues related to Medicine, Clinical Bioethics and Palliative Medicine. He also explores ethics foundations at the nexus of medicine, ethics, theology, religion, and culture.

Joe Bjorkman
Joe is a third-year transfer student majoring in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) with a minor in public policy. He is involved in OSU College Democrats and PPE Society, as well as a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion. He is currently working at The Library Bar and most recently worked at the United States Senate as a Congressional Intern.
Elyse Reed
Elyse is a sophomore double majoring in English and PPE in the Honors Program of the College of Arts and Sciences. She is the vice president of the PPE Society where she founded the first PPE Book Club for Independent Study. She is also the social media coordinator of Ohio State's branch of Amnesty International and a Senate Page for the Ohio Senate.
