The Lantern: CEHV Exhibition Celebrates 10 years of Conversations on Morality, Politics, and Society

COMPAS Exhibition in Hopkins Hall lobby

The Lantern newspaper published an article highlighting CEHV's recent exhibition, COMPAS Directions: A Decade of Ethical Exploration

Working closely with a design team led by Prof. Peter Chan (Department of Design), CEHV hoped the display would demonstrate the continuing urgency of the interdisciplinary and values-oriented discussions hosted by our "Conversations on Morality, Politics, and Society" (COMPAS) program. Each year, COMPAS organizes a series of events on a single controversial topic -- such as Immigration, Sustainability, Religion in Public Life, or Technology -- and invites distinguished visitors and Ohio State colleagues to join the conversation.

The exhibition, which ran from February 6-20, 2024, kicked off with a reception to honor the many OSU colleagues from different departments who have participated in the COMPAS program over the years. Visitors were encouraged to immerse themselves in ten years of ideas and discussion grappling with complex social and political questions.

CEHV is grateful to our wonderful design team: Peter Chan, Taylor Olsen, Noor Murteza, and Mark Celestina, whose vision brought ten years of conversation to life.  We would also like to thank the Department of Art and the Urban Arts Space for providing space and support for this exhibition.
