Karla Zadnik, OD PhD, is the Glenn A. Fry Professor at The Ohio State University College of Optometry and currently servesas Dean for Research and Graduate Studies. She received her OD and PhD degrees from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. She was on the clinical faculty of the University of California, Davis School of Medicine for 14 years. In 1999, she became the Glenn A. Fry Professor in Optometry and Physiological Optics at Ohio State.

 
Dr. Zadnik is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a Diplomate and Chair of its Section on Cornea and Contact Lenses, chair of the Academy's Membership Committee, and chair of the American Optometric Association's Council on Research. Dr. Zadnik received the American Optometric Foundation's Glenn A. Fry Award in 1995.
 
Dr. Zadnik is the Study Chairman for two studies funded by the National Eye Institute/National Institutes of Health-the Collaborative Longitudinal Evaluation of Ethnicity and Refractive Error (CLEERE) Study and the Collaborative Longitudinal Evaluation of Keratoconus (CLEK) Study. She is also the Principal Investigator of two patient-based research training awards: a Clinical Vision Research Development Award grant from National Eye Institute and a Clinical Research Curriculum Award from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
